Before Your Massage
Therapy Appointment
We will bring the supplies we need to administer your massage, including a table, lotion (pick which one you want us to use), sheets and towels for draping. When it comes to in-home massages, our expert will need a space at least 5 feet by 8 feet in which to set up the massage table and to work comfortably. Please adjust the temperature of the workspace to meet your comfort level, bearing in mind that you may be wearing little clothing during your massage. Before your massage, please remove your glasses or contact lenses, watch, jewelry, makeup, and anything worn in your hair and count the duration to be an additional 30–40 minutes above billable time (ex. 60-min treatment = allow at least 90 min). This will give us time to set up the work area, provide you with any necessary paperwork, and conduct a medical history interview. **Note: Dress to your comfort level at all times! |

During Your Massage By eliminating as many distractions in the
home as possible, you will greatly enhance your level of
relaxation. For this reason, we would prefer that you keep pets,
friends, and family members out of the room where we will be
working. Turn down the volume on any answering machines, phones,
pagers and cellular phones. This is your time to relax. Some
clients enjoy talking during their massage because they feel it
helps them release some of the daily stresses they may be feeling.
For others, talking may be counterproductive to full relaxation.
Allow yourself to experiment and find what is most beneficial for
you, but keep in mind that we need to stay informed about your
comfort level. Let us know if you are too warm or too cold. If your
neck is becoming stiff or you need to reposition yourself on the
table, just let us know. Likewise if your therapist is using too
much or not enough pressure, they need to be told. Share your needs
with us as soon as they arise so that we may make the most of our
time. After Your
Massage After your treatment, we will have a closing interview to
discuss any feedback you may wish to share. A massage helps your
body's tissues to rid themselves of toxins, such as lactic acid, so
a small number of patients may experience slight headache, muscle
soreness, or mood swings after receiving a massage. To flush these
toxins from your system efficiently, drink as much water as
comfortably possible during the 48 hours after your massage.
Massage also assists in lymph drainage and improved circulation in
the body, so any uncomfortable side effects are usually only very
temporary. Massage may bring physical and emotional concerns to the
surface as you experience your body in a new and different way
through the therapist's touch. Every individual responds to massage
differently. If massage is new to you, you may have some questions
you would like to ask. Please feel free to talk to me about any
part of the process you do not understand or with which you are not
completely comfortable. Call me if you are concerned about any
discomfort. |
Massage Care Pledge: As a trained professional(s), our massage therapist(s) can help you relax and will relieve tension through relaxation and therapeutic massage techniques. We only perform techniques that we are qualified to perform and will not overstep our boundaries as your massage therapist. This is your time to relax, so you will be draped according to your comfort level at all times. If you have questions about our credentials, look us up online. As a professional massage practice, we will maintain our professionalism at all times and will not tolerate any sexual overtures from our clients. If the client is inappropriate at any time before or during the massage, the session will be terminated and the client will owe balance in full for the time scheduled. Late policy: If the client is late for the appointment, it is up to the therapists discretion whether the full session will be given and if an extra fee will be assessed. If the therapist is late, then the therapist will attempt to give the full session or may reduce the charge for time worked. Both greatly depend on the therapists schedule for the day. Cancellation policy: Cancellation must be made 24 hours prior to the massage time. A replacement can be substituted to avoid a cancellation fee. Contact us for mobile massage therapy and bodywork that comes to you to relieve sports injuries, stress, and muscle tension.
